Lemon Yellow Afternoon
Lemons and hydrangeas, I will never tire of painting those two, especially together! This began with setting up a massive arrangement, a precarious one, overflowing and topsy-turvy with the weight of the lemons, hydrangeas, ranunculus, roses, and those drippy vines, amaranthus, (love lies bleeding). This painting, however, came from just the bottom right corner of this towering arrangement. I snapped a photo of the bottom right edge as I was so enchanted with the way everything was falling, (sometimes quite literally, falling). The plan was for a darker background, but I grabbed a wood panel that had a yellow underpainting, and once the lemon arrived on the scene, somehow all the tones just got me- the warm yellow light, the white hydrangea, and it was perfect.

All prints come unframed, but with a 1” border for easy presentation or for you to easily source a standard frame if desired. With the 1” border, a 12”x17” means that the entire paper size ix 12”x17”, and the printed image measures 10”x15”.
